Cash and valuables in transit (CVIT) training requirements

If you are working for a company which provides a cash in transit contracted service you will need an SIA CVIT licence. Before you can apply for that licence you will need to undertake a cash and valuables in transit training course which is approved by the SIA. This training course has the necessary parts which is specific to the CVIT operators role. The modules within the course include,

Modules

Unit 1: Working in the private security industry (common module)

    * Session 1: The private security industry and current legislation
    * Session 2: Health & Safety for security workers
    * Session 3: Fire safety for security operatives
    * Session 4: Security emergency procedures
    * Session 5: Working within the private security industry
    * Session 6: Communication and customer care

Unit 2: Cash and Valuables in Transit Specialist Module (16 hours)

    * Session 1: Industry induction and cash transportation
    * Session 2: transportation Industry operations and cash & valuables


Once both these modules are complete a nationally recognised qualification is obtained by the operative and they can apply for their CVIT licence.
