Security training for the SIA licence scheme Background information Since the introduction of the SIA there has been a huge increase in training courses which are available and training providers. Prior to the SIA training scheme training was normally scarce and many people who have worked in the industry for several years will remember the two day SITO course which was undertaken by a high percentage of security guards and others entering the industry.
Latest security training courses With the introduction of the SIA training has been reshaped and brought to a level of national standard for those entering the industry. Prior to applying for your SIA licence you now need to achieve a recognised qualification for the licence you are applying for. Throughout 2010 the training which is controlled by the SIA switched to a modular system with security staff needing to achieve different modules for each SIA licence. Details of each training module can be found below by clicking on the link for each sector.
